Spectrophotometers

Single Beam Spectrophotometers

Series 1000 UV/Visible

1000 SeriesWhen cost is a primary consideration of selection, the Series 1000 provides low cost, high specification, quality instruments for both the UV and visible ranges. The designs offer an ideal combination of performance, quality and reliability for educational use; a large number of Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges are multiple users of the range.

With only six, carefully programmed operating keys, the Series 1000 spectrophotometers are exceptionally easy to use and with a precise wavelength selection, with readout to 0.1nm, it provides the high degree of reproducibility needed for accuracy, particularly when measuring on a sloping background.

AquaQuest

AquaQuestThe Series 4000 is specifically designed to cover the complete requirements of water analysis spectrophotometers. Both visible range and UV/ visible range instruments are offered, each with or without an integral printer for convenient presentation of results, without the extra space required by an external printer.

Whatever special needs your laboratory may have, the 4000 Series instruments are likely to offer the flexibility, power and performance required. Wavelength scanning, cell programming, batch sampling, wavelength programming, time course plotting and reaction Kinetics are all available. High stability, low straylight, low noise and high wavelength setting precision ensure that reliable and accurate measurements may be made to 3 Absorbance units.

Double Beam Spectrophotometers

Aquarius 190-1100

Aquarius 190-1100The two Aquarius spectrophotometers offer very high performance with fixed optical bandwidth of less than 2nm, or variable optical bandwidth of 0.5, 1, 2 and 4nm for high resolution applications. The spectrophotometer’s performance and powerful software are only normally available with much more expensive instruments.

The fully symmetrical double beam system of the Aquarius instruments provides the highest accuracy of measurement coupled with very high stability with time. Both sample and reference beams are provided with the same space facilities, thus catering for the widest possible range of experimental requirements and not limited to just a simple cell in the reference beam.

Rapid operation with ease of use is provided by the powerful software built into the computing system of the Aquarius instruments. Generous built in secure memory allows scans, curves, plots, Kinetic curves, as well as methods to be stored tamper proof protected by personal security codes. Any scans, plots or data may be recalled from memory, with assured integrity, for reprocessing, manipulation and printing as required.

HPLC Systems – Adept Series

Adept SeriesAdept Series HPLC systems offer top grade performance, are economically priced and designed for all applications including method development, quality assurance, quality control, pharmaceutical and ion chromatography.

A revolutionary new UV-Visible Dynamic Absorbance Detector (DAD), offers all the spectral capabilities of a Photo-Diode Array Detector (PDA), with greatly improved performance when used as a variable wavelength detector (VWD).

Pumps, UV detectors and system control modules may be stacked vertically for the smallest possible space requirement or in lower profile where space permits.

HPLC Diode Array Detector

The CE4400 detector covers the wavelength range 190-700nm using a dual lamp source for top performance. The 2nm resolution (Nyqist) allows fine spectral features to be observed accurately.

Full spectra are stored each time the 512 diodes of the array are read, producing immediately available real time spectra and chromatograms. Cells in stainless steel, PEEK and Kel-F are available in 2,4 and 10mm pathlengths. Low drift and noise, typically less than 1.5 x 10-5 A peak to peak, provide high sensitivity.

HPLC Fluorescence Detectors

The CE4500 is a dual monochromator fully programmable detector, each monochromator covering the range 200-600nm, using an adjustable frequency Xenon lamp.
Flowcells of 4, 8 and 24µL irradiated volumes are available. The detection sensitivity is better than 100fg Anthracene in methanol using a 24µL flowcell.

The CE4501 is a filter detector for use where a lower cost is required. The lamp flash frequency is adjustable and the same 4, 8 and 24uL flowcells may be used. Sensitivity is better than 0.2pg Anthracene in methanol, using excitation at 254nm and a 24µL flowcell.

HPLC Systems – WaveQuest

WaveQuestWaveQuest the CE4300 Dynamic Absorbance Detector (DAD) is an ultra high speed scanning powerful alternative to Photo Diode Array detectors. HPLC method development, purity determination, R & D and Variable Wavelength Monitoring are all possible with the highest quality. Dual wavelength monitoring and wavelength programming are also provided.

The design is based on a double beam spectro-photometer concept with ultra fast wavelength scanning over the range 190-700nm. This dynamic scan provides UV spectra in only 200mS, previously only possible using the static optical system of a PDA detector.
Powerful signal processing software has been developed which enables very high quality “on-the-fly” scans to be triggered by eluting peaks without the peaks being degraded.

Spectral data is transferred by DataStream software to a PC workstation where the same software offers spectral manipulation and processing, library facilities and the export of data to applications such as Excel, word etc. All data may be stored on disk.
